September 26, 2022

News Item Image

We are now at HURCON 2 status. It appears likely that this will change in the coming days as Hurricane Ian is expected to further intensify and move toward the state.

BE ADVISED: Current US National Weather Service projections suggest Hurricane Ian may strike our area as a major hurricane (CAT 3 or greater.)

According to the National Hurricane Center, a CAT 3 hurricane will cause devastating damage including damage to well-built homes, downed trees, impassable roads and the loss of utilities up to several weeks after the storm clears.

Current US National Weather Service projections suggest that tropical storm strength winds may reach the Pasco/Hernando/Citrus County areas Tuesday night.
