Hurricane Nicole Update - Final

November 11, 2022

The Hernando County Composite Squadron returned to HURCON 5 status on 11 NOV 2022. Normal meetings and activities have resumed as identified below.

Hurricane Nicole response is being coordinated by the Florida Wing. DO NOT SELF DEPLOY.

From Maj Hernandez:

I hope that this announcement finds you safely recovering from yesterday's weather event.   FLWG is now in a TS Nicole response phase and our squadron is set at a HURCON 5 readiness status.   We are cleared toresume all normal squadron meetings and activities as long as they do not interfere with ongoing CAP response operations.

Reminder: HURCON 5 is a seasonal alert condition that is automatically set by all units in FLWG from 1 June through 30 November each year unless directed otherwise by the FLWG/CC.   I'd expect we will shift to a HURCON 0 readiness posture, which is a stand down condition, as we enter the month of December.

If you have been negatively impacted by the storm and in need of assistance from the squadron, please reach out and communicate via your chain of command.  Cadets are urged to contact their cadet staff leadership if they need assistance.  Senior members can communicate directly though the Deputy Commander for senior members (1st Lt Stone).
